In order to minimize the amount of data that needs to cross the network, most northbound management interfaces include support to receive a query when data is requested. This query is used to filter down the response data set before it is sent across the network. The "List Filters" feature introduced in ConfD 7.1 enables ConfD to pass query criteria down to Data Providers for processing. By taking advantage of this feature in your Data Provider application code, you can increase performance as a result of moving less data between your Data Provider and the ConfD core engine while reducing the compute load inside your network device.
Download our “List Filters in ConfD” application note to get an introduction to the List Filters feature – what it is, how it works, and how to implement it in your Data Provider code.
Sincerely,
John Lawitzke, ConfD Product Manager
EANTC announced the final results of its “Multi-Vendor Interoperability Test” with a whitepaper. This year’s testing was focused on interoperability test cases to probe the maturity of transport network solutions to support 5G networks, data center networking evolution, and multi-vendor domain orchestration. The showcase included more than 60 test cases with past and new advanced scenarios. The NETCONF & YANG section of the tests had more participants and more positive results than any previous year of the event.
You can access the EANTC results whitepaper to learn the outcomes with many vendors showing maturity across multi-vendor interoperability, FlexE support, and SDN Orchestration.
ConfD Training VideosSince mid-March COVID-19 has transformed many aspects of our lives in ways we couldn’t have predicted or planned. As we are still deeply impacted by this outbreak, many are finding new ways to create some normalcy in their daily lives. Some are as simple as doing video chats and daily walks. No matter what you are doing, we expect to see a new way of life, even a transformation of business as it is clear that many of us can work from home. To prepare for what’s next, many are taking advantage of this time to improve our skills and plan for the future of business via online learning and training videos. With this in mind, we wanted to remind you of our ConfD Training Videos to add to your work from home learning. These videos provide the full view of what ConfD can do and will help expand your programmability knowledge. |
The network element provider (NEP) market continues to see a rapid change in advanced approaches to SDN and NFV. How can NEPs stay ahead of this fast-moving change and deliver needed solutions and services? With the use of automation and programmability.
Download our “Heavy Reading Whitepaper: Enabling Network Programmability & Automation with NETCONF/YANG” to learn how programmability is the key to automation and managing change.
SThe annual EANTC NETCONF/YANG Interop event took place in Berlin during the first two weeks of March.
Performance optimization is a key component to our success here at Tail-f/Cisco and is always a goal we aim to achieve.
We all remember the very popular Nike tag line “Just Do It.” … However, in the world of technology, “Just Do It” doesn’t apply and, in many cases, is a very bad idea.
