We have seen a growing demand and usage of RESTCONF, including its use with ConfD which can automatically render a northbound RESTCONF API from the YANG data models. As with any innovation new opportunities arise as customers use ConfD to increase programmability, including support for RESTCONF token authentication. Gaining popularity as an alternative to using username/password authentication, RESTCONF Token Authentication was added to ConfD Premium starting with version 6.6.
In this new application note, “ConfD and RESTCONF Token Authentication,” we explore in more depth RESTCONF token authentication, how it works, and how to leverage this new capability with ConfD.
